A few months back, I was having a coffee with my business coach and he asked me why I don’t blog professionally?

He said the funny thing is that you coach people on how to blog but you don’t do it myself.

Great question, yeah as I laughed sheepishly.

To be honest, I really hate writing or writing hates me. It sounds like a cop out but I really don’t like writing.

I have never been a very good writer and I have struggled with it all my life, from my school days to my professional career.

I find it difficult, complicated and frustrating as I often struggle to get the words out of my head and onto paper.

As I write this post it has probably taken me 4 weeks of procrastination and 4 days of writing!  Even writing my own copy for my consulting/web development business it has taken me 3 months to write and I still have not yet finished it.

I am more of an analytical and technical type person. I love numbers, process, systems, workflows and anything that requires logic. Just like Dr. Spock

Dr Spock from Star Trek
I am very good at solving problems however when it comes to writing, I just struggle, I suck!

I struggle with the words, structure, grammar and anything everything to do with writing.

In saying this when I first started my digital publishing business, I had to write everyday! I dreaded it.

I would struggle day in day out for years, but the funny is the more I wrote the more money my niche websites made. So I kept at it until I could afford to outsource it.

Anyhow back to his conversation. He was so right in many ways, how can I continue to preach it and not do it myself.

It is time to face my fears, my doubts and many ways my impostor syndrome.

So I have decided to step outside my comfort zone and take up the challenge on becoming a professional blogger.

I am actually really excited but at the same time nervous as I finally get to share and write about one of my biggest passion in life which is making a living online.
