Welcome to my eighth monthly income report on How I Make a Living Online.
Each month I will publish my revenues, expenses, learnings, activities and various statistics on how I make a living online.
What have I done in January
January was a massive month and a very stressful one as well.
I quit Freelancing!
But instead I quietly launched my Digital Agency. I went from having zero clients to having over 5+ in less than 4 weeks. The response has blown me away.
The main driver of this business was my frustration with freelancing, I went from charging $xxxx per project to now charging a monthly recurring revenue.
In changing in how I charged clients it will now give me more predictability in my business revenue. I am not sure exactly how it will go but I feel that I can finally build a scalable business.
So this month I had to put on all my hats, from digital marketer to developer to sales to finance to support and many more. Overwhelming is an understatement.
The next 12 months will be very interesting as I try to build a one man team agency into something larger.
I am still Blogging
No I haven’t fallen off the tracks. But my digital agency has taken priority and I had to miss a few weeks.
My first 9 months blogging experience has been quite amazing. It has allowed me to appreciate how much work and time it is required to really build a successful blog.
In my “Yearly Review” the one thing that stood out most was that simply writing great posts alone will not increase my readership.
I need to do a lot more promotions of my content and blog.
So I have a lot of things I will be doing new and differently this year in order to grow my blog from my handful of readers.
Which includes creating a free blogging course, outreach work, some paid advertising and trying out different online mediums to grow my reach.
Niche Websites
I have a number of websites planned but have not put any time into it.
However my first website – Infomercial Review site is still generating small amounts of revenue even though I haven’t worked on it for over 6 months.
Time to bring my SEO hat out, I hate it but I love it!
I have earmarked this as my side project for 2017 while I build my digital agency.
Where are you spending your time?
As you can see I have lots of projects running this year and so little time.
With this, I really had to be very deliberate on where I spend my time this year and find new ways to squeeze more time in my days.
One of the things I have done so far was track my times of where I spend each hour of my day. After doing this for 2 weeks, I didn’t realise how much time I wasted on useless shit.
No serious watching tv, facebook, going out, playing stupid mobile games like Clash of Clans, napping and snacking.
I use to think I deserve it as I have been working hard but this is the bullshit we feed ourselves in order to feel better.
If there is something you want you need to make the effort, the excuse of no time is a lie. Want something in life? Look at where you are spending your time.
It isn’t a sacrifice, it is about going after your dreams.
So I been slowly culling my way through them, it isn’t easy but I am slowly weaning off the reliance and using the extra time on better tasks like learning to play the guitar, reading and work.
