Becoming a Professional Blogger and building a successful blog is a lot of hard work and it won’t happen overnight.

Just like everything else it takes time, it takes time to grow your audience, your list, your followers and yourself.

Here are my ideas and thoughts on how to become a professional and successful blogger.

1. Start with your Why or Reason?

Knowing your why or reasons is one of the most powerful ways to keep you motivated, focus and dedicated.

Now it doesn’t have to be a world changer or life changing goal. But it does needs to be something that is realistic and achievable for you.

My why for this blog is to help and teach over 100,000 plus people on how to make a living online, to create a successful blog and become a professional blogger.

2. Have a Strategy

This is one of the main reason why most people fail at blogging, they fail to have a strategy.

It is just like if you were training for a marathon, you wouldn’t start to train without knowing a strategy on how to do it.

This goes for blogging as well. Don’t just blog for the sake of blogging have a strategy in place as it will help keep your focus.

It can be as simple or as complex as you want. I prefer starting with something simple and evolve and improve it over time.

For example I started with this simple strategy – To write and publish a blog post every Thursday and to promote the sh*t out of it.

3. Goals.

Now, I am no life coach like Tony Robbins, but trust me on this one. Having something to aim for is better than dreaming about it!

The way I set goals are in 90 day blocks, which I learnt this concept from High Performance Coach Todd Herman who have helped sport stars and entrepreneurs to achieve more and perform at their peak.

Without going into too much detail, his method has allowed me to become more focus, gain momentum and achieve results faster. For more info check out his blog.

My goal for the next 90 days is to write twelve awesome amazing banging blogs posts.

4. Write in your own voice

Your Voice
Don’t be anyone else but yourself.

People want to hear from you, not Modern Mummy or Anne Taylor. They want to read your opinions, your thoughts, your ideas and your experiences.

Plus It is much easier to write in your own voice then someone else. Be yourself.

5. Be consistent

To build a successful blog you “MUST” be consistent.

Blogging consistently, whether it is daily or at least once a week, as it is important to maintain the interest of your audience and also to find and attract new people to your blog.

One technique I use to become more consistent is I tie my blogging to a thing I love doing. Like I only can reward myself with a treat once I complete this blog and it has time limit as the shop closes at 6pm (Damn Look at the time…. I gotta hurry now).

6. Keep Learning, Practicing and Improving

Writing is just one thing you need to do when blogging.

There are tonnes of other things that goes into making a successful blog.

Like

  • Creating and adding images, video, audio
  • Marketing your blog
  • Web design to make your site look pretty
  • Install an Email Autoresponder like Aweber
  • Updating your WordPress Platform

Plus many more. At first it may seem overwhelming but just like driving a car the more you do it the better you will get.

7. Have fun

Blogging should be fun, rewarding, exciting and something you enjoy.

For me it is also privilege as I get to help people, share my story, opinions and ideas to the world and I get to work on achieving my goal of becoming a Professional Blogger.

A great way to have even more fun is to get your friends involved by asking them to share your blog or have them start their own blog – “How to Start a Blog in 30 Minutes or Less
